Tegalalang, Sebatu and around – the village of Tegalalang, 7kmnorth of Ubud, is known for its brightly painted woodcarvings, a craft that has caught on so successfully in the area that almost the entire length of the twelve-kilometer-long Ubud-Tegalalang-Pujung road is now lined with shops selling painted mobiles, animals and figurines, interspersed with outlets specializing in antique or contemporary furniture.
Tegalalang village sets itself as the center of painted woodcarvings.Shops line up for about 12-km long, offering painted mobiles, animals, and figurines. Their presence is mixed with the series of antique and contemporary furniture shops.

The views get increasingly spectacular as you pass through Tegalalang, with Bali’s greatest mountains looming majestically ahead – Mt Batur to the north, and Mt Agung to the east – and rice terraces providing the classic foreground. In CEKING, the village just north of Tegalalang that’s famous for its Garuda woodcarving, several restaurants makes the most of these vistas, including the beautifully situated Kampung Café, which is built on two levels overlooking the valley and serves classy nouvelle cuisine and Southeast Asian dishes.

Tegalalang Rice Terrace is one of the more popular rice terrace to visit. The rice terrace is designed very beautiful with exquisite hollowing rice field and precisely located on the hill bank. In this place, you will see the Balinese farmer do their rice field in oblique area complete with its system irrigation. You will enjoy the beautiful panorama of valley with rice terrace and coconut trees ornament it. Tegalalang Rice Terrace is one of the tourist icon in Ubud Bali and many visited by tourists every day.
